SETTING: Oriana, Washington, 21st Century

Zack Jones is a J & J agent with some serious secrets. One of them is his paranormal talent. He sees "visions" at crime scenes. Folks outside the Arcane Society would probably be inclined to think he was crazy. Inside the Society, however, there is a great deal of pressure on him to follow what everyone seems to think is his destined career path. He's a Jones, after all. The Society and his family have plans for him.

Zack, however, is not interested in fulfilling other people's expectations. He tried that a while back when he got engaged to a woman who had been selected for him by arcanematch.com. After his fiancee attempted to murder him he decided to pursue other interests, namely hunting down Nightshade operatives.

He needs the help of Raine Tallentyre, a woman who hears voices. When he meets her he figures they were pretty much made for each other. The problem is that Raine has some very good reasons for not trusting any man named Jones.
