How to Use the Chat Room

Log on Instructions


  1. Nickname: Type the name that you want to go by in the chat room. If your nickname is registered, type it along with your password (i.e., Nickname*password*)

  2. Text Color: Choose a color for your messages.

  3. [Join Chat]: Just click this button to enter the chat room!

  4. Remember Settings: Check this box to set a cookie which stores your Nickname and Text Color for future log ons.

NOTE: If you would like to register a nickname that will be exclusively yours in this chat room, email cissy@krentz-quick.com with your name, nickname, and password.

Chat Room Tips

  • To send a message to the room, type it into the Text Box and hit Enter (or click Update). On most browsers, new text will scroll automatically every 15-20 seconds. If your browser does not automatically refresh, just hit enter or click Update to see new text.
  • To send a private message, choose a nickname from the Select Box, then type your message normally.  This message will not appear in the room. Instead, it will only be seen by the chatter that you sent it to.
  • When you receive a private message, it will appear in the top frame after you click [Update]. Note that the sender's nickname is already selected in the Select Box. To respond, type the private message in the message box, and click [Update]. If you don't want to respond, leave the message box empty and click [Update].
  • If you don't wish to receive private messages, just select "Ignore Private Messages" from the Select Box.  Now you will not view any private messages sent to you.  In this mode, any message that you enter is sent to the room.
