Frank and I spent several years in North Carolina (I worked at the University of N.C. at Chapel Hill and later at Duke) and I LOVE Southern manners! Perhaps because they compliment the manners my mother taught me (she was born in Canada and raised in Seattle). As far as my attitudes toward people with different experiences in life (sexually and lifestyle-wise) I got those from her and my father, both of whom judged people by their actions and their hearts.
