No, one doesn't have to be a registered user to post a message on the EL board; one can do so as a guest. It IS more difficult to get the hang of at first, but more flexible to use when one gets accustomed to it (e.g. the possibility of editing posts again after they have been submitted). I found Jayne's decidedly easier in the beginning. Six of one, half-dozen of the other!
