Searching for out of print books can be a frustrating experience. But there
are a many online resources which make the process easier. Keep in mind, of
course, that the best places to find used books are often very close to
home. Before you give up (or pay exhorbitant collectibles fees for that
elusive title) be sure you've checked:
- Local used book stores
- Thrift shops
- Library Sales
- Flea Markets
- Salvation Army & Goodwill stores
- Classified Ads - place your own "Book Wanted" ad
- Friends' attics and basements (you' be surprised what they don't know they have)
Once you've exhausted the local area, it may be time to expand your search. Fortunately there's a wide network of sources available. Listed below are a few.
