Angie Morgan travels to Mexico to complete the sale for an old heirloom to the family, the Torres dagger. The dagger is surrounded by legends and superstitions. It was given to the first Challoner groom upon his wedding night by his bride. Supposedly the legacy of the dagger is that along with it comes good fortune to whomever owns it. While in Mexico Angie meets Flynn Sangrey, a very handsome but mysterious man who doesn't talk much about himself. They become friends and when she has to go pick up the dagger, Flynn agrees to be her escort. That night upon their return someone enters Angie's room looking for the dagger. Awakened from sleep she is frightened and runs to Flynn. They take the dagger and leave that night only to be abducted. With a narrow escape they finally leave Mexico with the dagger. Flynn is the last in the line of Challoners and he wants the dagger which rightfully belongs to his family. He has all his plans for the future set up and the dagger was to play an important role in that future. He tracked it down to Mexico but found out that someone beat him to it, namely Angie and her uncle. Angie is devastated when she learns that Flynn lied to her about his identity and that he only slept with her to get the dagger. She is unresponsive to his explanation and when she doesn't get angry he believes she understands. Then he makes the mistake of asking her to marry him and she really gets mad. Will she forgive him and become the next Challoner bride? Before this can happen they must find out who else is after the dagger. This story is full of legends and intrigue. I love how you are drawn into the story with the characters and their lives. It has some love scenes that are not overly done. Robin Peek
